Modern Luxury in Fes

Morocco’s ‘place to be’ at the moment seems to be Fes – where the culinary experience is booming and now the hotels are offering a different edge to Luxury in Morocco.

Hotel Sahrai is the latest edition to the expanding portfolio – the latest edition to the SLH (Small Leading Hotels) collection – this boutique gem house’s just 50 rooms and suites.

With touches of Moroccan finishes, so not to forget where you are and a contemporary architectural design, Hotel Sahrai offers views to the Fes medina and city in the distance.
One of the hardest things to find in the city is room size, and outdoor space to enjoy the everlasting sun, without having to compromise on luxury, and they seem to hit the nail on the head. Outdoor dining, roof top bar and a refreshing infinity pool are all offered in the chic surrounds.

The hotel takes in the natural settings and makes the most of the natural light, by the way in which the structure was designed and built. This way you get to enjoy the history of Fes when you take a sightseeing tour, and can then head back to your contemporary and modern dwellings for a relaxing and restful nights sleep!

For those of you wanting to relax, make the most of a professional treatment in the Givenchy Spa, or just take time to enjoy a cocktail by the pool. And not to mention, two gastronomy restaurants offering international cuisine and Moroccan delights.

Iceland – A Photographers Paradise

When you travel as much as the world does now, there are so many ways that people like to keep their memories close to their heart. Often, small trinkets, a piece of local culture or art and then a photograph. One that has been taken by yourself, when the light was just precise and every element seems to have fallen into the right place at the right time.

We are lucky enough in Iceland to have the most absorbing nature, which evolves at the blink of an eye. Whether it’s due to the scenery as you drive along, or whether it’s down to the ever and quickly changing weather where you can experience all 4 seasons in just one day.
The rugged raw nature makes for a photographers paradise. And Iceland has it all. The powerful ocean as it breaks on the black sand volcanic beache, crisp white and ice blue glaciers and fast flowing waterfalls producing a glisten of a rainbow. In winter the white wonderland of dense snow, to the flowing luscious green fields in the summer time and the golden moss colours of autumn as it prepares for winter, these are just to name a few.

Private Travel Iceland are partnered with a stunning professional photographer. Thor has been enthusiastically travelling his native island finding the best spots and capturing the moment for many years. And we are proudly able to offer unique trips with him as he shows clients the secret hidden areas to capture the moment, using his experience to guide the ever-changing light, whether it be the ever lasting summer midnight sun, or the dance of the sky in winter with the Northern Lights.
Our tours with Thor can be a taster or just a day – to the full duration in which you are in Iceland.

Off to the Ice Lagoon with PTI Iceland

What shall we do tomorrow…. I know ‘let’s go to Jokulsarlon Ice Lagoon’!! An early start and we hit the Highway 1 driving through all seasons to reach our destination. Passing Mountains, Black Sand beaches, Moss and Mars like conditions as the rain and wind pound us, then minutes later the sun is shining and the Sky is filled with Rainbows!
We’ve arrived! And WOW what a sight we behold, the blue sky, white sparkle of the glacier and mountain back drop, then there it is – luminous Icebergs of all sizes floating along the lagoon, just spectacular! As you move around the lagoon each angle offers a complete different picture of this Glacier Lake.
Jokulsarlon is situated in the Southeast of Iceland on the edge of Vatnajokull National Park and Breiðamerkurjökull Glacier. The lagoon was created by the receding edge of the Atlantic Ocean and has now become Iceland’s deepest lake.
As you head from the lagoon towards the ocean and on the beach, there sits more Icebergs, all shapes and sizes, just resting and glistening as the sun hits them. The sound of the crash of the waves from the Atlantic Ocean echoes in the background.
Another ‘must see’ sight for when you visit Iceland, like all of them!
